Armor smithing allows creation and repair of metal type armor. The higher the skill level, the more complicated the armor may be. Higher levels also determine what types of materials may be used while smithing. The armor smithing skill even allows creation of armor pieces that are a custom fit for strange body parts (like a Salamander's feet, Trunkie's head, or Snakeman's neck).
